Andre Curry

Community college has truly been a lifesaver. It has allowed me to pursue skillsets that will help me reach my goals. It is my ambition to pursue a career in the accounting field directly upon graduating. My plan is to use accounting as a stepping stone; eventually, I would love to have my own business. 

I can’t express how much the Men of Excellence program has been a benefit to my life and academic career. We have weekly meetings where we speak on a vast array of topics, from our own lives and experiences, to history and current social issues.  

There’s a saying: “A single conversation with a wise man is worth a month’s study of books.” I’ve found our meetings to be therapeutic, a means of sharpening the intellect, and a medium to receive different perspectives on topics I perhaps never considered.
