How the Nonprofit Institute Can Help:

The Nonprofit Institute provides many programs designed to meet an organization’s interests and needs. These programs include:

  • Monthly Executive Director learning circles & roundtables bring leadership together to meet and discuss operational concerns and share lessons learned. These meetings will resume in the fall of 2021 as one regional meeting for all executive directors throughout Southern Maryland.
  • Monthly nonprofit community calls with local United Ways that foster collaboration, information sharing, and support. These calls will resume in the fall of 2021 as one call for anyone involved with nonprofits throughout Southern Maryland. This call will likely continue in partnership with what will be the United Way of Southern Maryland.
  • Affinity Groups provide for networking and sharing of ideas centered on volunteer coordination, fundraising, and marketing/public relations/communcations.
  • Training courses cover key areas of nonprofit leadership, management, strategic planning, fundraising, marketing/promotion, and board development.
  • An annual conference with a keynote speaker and breakout sessions that encourage learning, sharing, and networking.
  • Regular communications via a resource-rich monthly e-newsletter
  • Operational advice and insight in areas of leadership, management, marketing, communications and fundraising.
  • Connections and referrals to grant writers, attorneys, accountants, and insurance professionals, some of whom offer services to nonprofits on a pro bono basis or for a reduced rate.

Involvement in the Nonprofit Institute offers your organization opportunities that can lead to the following outcomes:

  • Stronger boards
  • More effective outreach
  • Financial growth and stability
  • An active pool of volunteers
  • More effective management practices
  • Engagement and support of colleagues
  • Achievement of educational goals
  • Effective staff
