I am a proud Class of 2022 graduate of Maurice J. McDonough High School and one of the first five students to complete the Curriculum for Agriculture Science Education (CASE) program.

By choosing to start my college career at CSM, I could continue to build on the dual enrollment opportunities provided during my junior and senior years of high school. The partnership between Charles County Public Schools and CSM allowed me to take a math and English class with McDonough faculty and additional classes through CSM’s online catalog. I was able to get a jump-start on my associate degree and would recommend dual enrollment classes to any high school student in Southern Maryland.

I chose the social sciences major because I have a strong interest in geography, government, public policy, and community service. I plan to transfer to the University of Maryland’s (UMD) School of Public Policy and complete my bachelor’s degree.

While in school at CSM and UMD, I hope to learn more about state and local policymaking and gain firsthand knowledge of the legislative session in Annapolis. After graduation, I do not envision running for political office, but can see myself working for elected leaders in the campaign process and in the research and administration of public policy.
