Emily Creswick Writer's Process Series: Stacy Sneed (Children's Author)

Stacy Sneed is a highly accomplished children's author, passionate advocate, and community leader based in Maryland. Her initiatives have earned recognition from respected publications, including Empeccable Magazine, Afro-American Newspaper, National Black Guide Media, and Southern Maryland News. Additionally, her message has been featured on prominent media platforms such as WHUR-96.3 FM, Praise 104.1 FM, and the WBGT-Gospel Network.

​As a children's author, Sneed is committed to fostering compassion and acceptance in young readers. Drawing upon her personal experiences with bullying, depression, and the challenges of being different, she dedicates herself to inspiring children and others through her messages of kindness, inclusivity, and empathy. She is the author of the "Sandcastle Crabman" series, which includes the "Sandcastle Crabman Activity Coloring Book," 

In addition to her work as an author, Sneed is a dedicated advocate for Sarcoidosis awareness, mental health, and homelessness. As the founder of the nonprofit organization Women of Life Changing, Inc., she empowers individuals through support services, workshops, scholarships, and community initiatives. Sneed's latest book, "Sandcastle Crabman," is a testament to her dedication to promoting inclusivity and self-acceptance. When she's not writing, Sneed enjoys cooking on her culinary YouTube platform, "Party Foods by Chef Stay," reading, traveling, and spending time with her family.

 

About the Emily Creswick Writer's Process Series

This is a monthly series for students, staff, faculty, and community members in which we bring local writers to the Writing Center to discuss writing processes. Events will occur on the first Tuesday of the month from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at the Writing Center.
