I moved all over as a kid and ended up in Maryland at the age of 13. I graduated from Great Mills High School in 1999. I started in emergency medical services (EMS) in 1997, when I joined the Hollywood Volunteer Rescue Squad in St. Mary's County. I received my EMT certification in 1999, then went to college for my associate degree in nursing and my paramedic certification. I joined CSM as an adjunct nursing instructor in 2013, then came on as full-time faculty in the EMS program in 2015.

Q&A
My teaching style aligns most closely with a hybrid style of teaching that allows me to tailor my classes to my students’ needs and interests while infusing the experience with my own personality and interests. In my lecture courses, I lean more towards the demonstrator/coach style by incorporating multimedia presentations, activities, and demonstrations.
I love spending time with my family and my four-legged children. I enjoy gardening, canning, skiing, scuba diving, and traveling.
