COVID-19 Updates

STUDENT AND EMPLOYEE VACCINATION REQUIREMENT

The College of Southern Maryland continues to work toward ensuring a safe working and learning environment at each of our campuses. Since the virus arrived in March 2020, we have been actively gathering input and data from many sources on the pandemic, vaccines, and the future of CSM, and your feedback has been invaluable.

The effectiveness of the vaccines against COVID-19 and their widespread availability allow us to take the next step toward increasing the number of face-to-face course offerings, in-person academic experiences, and other on-campus activities. The college’s Safer on Campus Task Force is tasked with researching and recommending strategies for an employee and student COVID-19 vaccination requirement for the Spring 2022 Semester, which begins January 18, 2022.

We understand you have a lot of questions, and while we don’t have all the answers yet, it is our goal to roll out our plan by Nov. 19 and we will share more information with you at that time.

COVID-19 Q&A SESSIONS

Real Students, Real stories: IN THEIR OWN WORDS

Real Students, Real Stories

THIS WEEK HEAR FROM:
Collin Felix
Homeland Security Program

“I will say this to anyone else in my shoes, it's never too late to start school. I was at a crossroads in my life, about to turn 30, and I felt as if I needed to accomplish more.

My wife Jenna was my inspiration to attend CSM. She recently graduated from the nursing program and now works as an emergency room nurse now.

I find that attending school online has been extremely convenient since I also work full-time. I can work at my own pace, and typically, I do as much work as possible to get ahead and stay ahead. CSM's online classes take the stress away from working around tight schedules.

Anytime I’ve needed help, the staff has been super friendly and helpful, especially my advisor Mrs. Maratta and at Student Account Services.

I've learned so many new things since attending school, and I'm excited to continue learning; every class is a new adventure where you connect with people from all walks of life.

I’m pursuing an associate degree in homeland security, and I plan on transferring to University of Maryland’s Global Campus or George Washington University to finish my bachelor's. I want to chase my dream job of being an analyst at a federal agency.”
