MARYLAND EXTENDS DEADLINE FOR STATE FINANCIAL AID APPLICATIONS
Good news for Maryland students applying for state financial aid opportunities! The Maryland Higher Education Commission (MHEC) has extended the state deadline to submit the 2024-25 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to June 1, to be considered for Maryland state scholarships including the Community College Promise Scholarship. MHEC also launched a new webpage to help students learn about the 2024-2025 changes.

NAME THE LA PLATA CAMPUS FITNESS CENTER
What’s in a name? A lot! We want to give the Fitness Center at the La Plata Campus PE Building a real, proper name. Sure, calling it “the fitness center” might be an “exactly what it says on the label” situation—but such an active, lively campus location deserves a name with some CSM panache! That’s where you come in. Submit your best idea for the fitness center’s new name by Feb. 9. The entire campus community will vote on the finalists to choose the winner. Just think of it—you could make a permanent mark on campus with your brilliant naming idea!

Know someone in need of a laptop to keep up with classwork? Registered CSM students are eligible to check out a student loaner laptop each semester. Email the Help Desk with your request and include your CSM student ID number and full name.
WEEKLY LA PLATA CAMPUS FITNESS CENTER EVENTS
Work out, stay active, and connect to your fellow Hawks with weekly fitness activities at the La Plata Campus Fitness Center! On Tuesdays, jam out and work out with Bikes and Beats or show off your moves (and your aim!) with intramural dodgeball. On Wednesdays, join us for indoor pickleball.
