Your Voice Matters: The Campus Climate Survey Closes March 13
CSM is participating in the Spring 2026 Campus Climate Survey, a statewide effort to address sexual misconduct and relationship violence at Maryland colleges and universities. Your feedback matters! March 13 is the last day to take the survey and enter to win a $250 CSM scholarship. To participate, check your email for the survey invitation sent on Feb. 23. Help us make CSM a safer and more supportive community for everyone!
Payment Reminder
Spring 7-Week Term II students please review your account balance as soon as possible. Students with outstanding balances may be dropped from their 7-Week Term II classes on March 12. Log in to your student account to confirm your balance and make any necessary payments or arrangements to avoid being dropped.

Registration is now open for summer classes! Keep up your academic momentum from the spring while still enjoying everything summer has to offer. Earn credits for transfer, knock out required courses, or get ahead in your program.

Vertical Agriculture Course: The Sky’s the Limit
There’s only so much arable land for farming, so to solve problems of food access and insecurity at home and abroad, it’s time to look up. CSM offers a new course in vertical agriculture, a modern approach that produces more than 10 times as much food as traditional farming while using 95% less water. Best of all, the course is free to eligible students, with tuition and fees covered by scholarship funds from the Tri-County Council for Southern Maryland.

Next week is Spring Break! We’ll be giving our beaks a rest, so there won’t be an edition of HawkTalk for the week of March 16. Don’t worry, though—we’ll get right back to squawking on March 23 when the college reopens.

The College Survival Guide is a recurring feature that directs members of the CSM community to free resources and support for whatever challenges they may be facing. At CSM, no Hawk has to fly alone.
NEED A REFRESHER BEFORE YOUR EXAMS? The best time to ask for help with your classes is before you get your grades back! CSM offers free in-person and online tutoring and academic support for whatever you need help with through the Learning Support Services Center. Avoid last-minute cramming and those heart-stopping unexpected surprises during exams by preparing and practicing now!
