Calvert County has a new Small Business Development Center (SBDC) consultant to provide no-cost, confidential business start-up, growth and management advice.

College of Southern Maryland’s (CSM) SBDC Consultant Lisa Creason joined the Calvert County Government Department of Economic Development team in December and will be co-located with the county staff to provide one-on-one guidance and advice to all Calvert County business owners.

“We are thrilled that Lisa has joined our team as an SBDC consultant,” said Kelly Robertson-Slagle, director of the Calvert County Department of Economic Development. “Her expertise, creativity, attention to detail and willingness to go the extra mile for her clients are all attributes that will help ensure Calvert County’s entrepreneurs and business owners get the best business consulting services possible. We have come to rely on the professional consultation, training and outreach services provided by the Small Business Development Center staff and, over the years, have witnessed first-hand the positive impact these services have on our local economy.”

“I’ve been a program assistant with the SBDC in La Plata for four years and I truly love the work we do,” Creason shared. “I look forward to rolling up my sleeves with Calvert County’s entrepreneurs and small business owners and helping them find new pathways to success. I understand the challenges of running a business and, working with the team at the Department of Economic Development, I am certain we will help strengthen Calvert’s already robust and growing business community.”
