The College of Southern Maryland (CSM) and the Southern Maryland Agricultural Development Commission (SMADC) are joining forces to highlight exciting career opportunities in agriculture and animal science.  Mark your calendars for Saturday, March 21 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. at CSM’s Leonardtown Campus and plan to attend a six-hour course that will help students identify and compare different segments of agricultural and farming industry specializations.

Agriculture is one of the United States’ most important industries, employing more than 17 percent of the country’s total work force. This one-day course will outline educational requirements for relevant industry certification in engineering, machinery, horticulture, agronomy, safety, business, economics, law and agri-tourism. This class is for anyone of any age who is interested in an agricultural career including farmers, small business, agribusiness, animal science majors, those interested in working for the Maryland Department of Agriculture or U.S. Department of Agriculture – and more.

Scholarships are available at smadc.com and lunch is free.
