CSM Waives Online Course Fees for Credited Summer Classes, Registration Underway
The College of Southern Maryland (CSM) announces that it will waive the $20 per credit online course fee for its 2020 Summer Sessions to help current and new students ease the pressure associated with transitioning to an online learning environment. Registration for the 2020 Summer Sessions is currently underway.
“We know that CSM is the workforce development solution to help Southern Maryland and its communities repair the harm that is being done to our finances and our economy,” said CSM President Dr. Maureen Murphy. “We are taking every step we can to not let this virus slow down learning. We must keep working toward our goals, while battling and recovering from COVID-19.”
CSM’s Summer Session I (six weeks) begins May 26; Summer Session II (11 weeks) begins May 26; Summer Session III (nine weeks) begins June 15; and Summer Session IV (six weeks) begins July 7.
Other steps CSM has taken after closing campuses to the public March 17 to help slow the spread of the coronavirus, include CSM staff personally reaching out to students to share lists of resources available through the community, offering loaner laptops to students and providing more than $25,000 in student emergency aid to students for living incidentals, transportation and tuition assistance.
Coronavirus Update
CSM last week announced that it will maintain a virtual learning environment for its students for the rest of the spring semester and faculty and staff will continue to operate remotely through May 31. CSM’s campuses remain restricted to pre-approved and authorized personnel. This date may again be extended as CSM stands united with the nation in the fight against the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

Students should make sure they are monitoring their CSM student email accounts, as well as the MyLearning course shells for their individual courses, and stay in close contact with their professors if they have any questions about their courses.
