Children’s theater returns to the College of Southern Maryland (CSM) this weekend with a production of “The Fantastic Mr. Fox (Wood),” Roald Dahl’s much-loved story of vain attempts of three farmers, “Boggis, Bunce, and Bean, one fat, one short, and one lean,” to get rid of the fox who regularly steals food from their farms. With audience participation, lively music, a colorful cast featuring local children, and a kid-friendly runtime, the play is sure to appeal to young audiences.

“There’s never enough family entertainment for our youngest audiences,” said Director Michelle Talkington, who is also the vice chair at Indian Head Center for the Arts Black Box Theater and owner of A Ton of Fun Theater.

“I really love children’s shows and sparking that love of theater in kids. I hope that a lot of families come out to see the show, and even audition for our future children’s shows,” shared Talkington.

The performances are April 7 at 7:30 p.m. and again April 8, at 3 p.m. at the La Plata Campus, Fine Arts Center, Brad and Linda Gottfried Theater. Tickets are $15 General Admission; $10 Military with ID, Seniors age 65 and up, Youth age 17 and below; $5 CSM students, staff, and faculty with ID. One ticket per ID.

“Fantastic Mr. Fox (Wood)” is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of Samuel French, Inc.
