darah-schillinger.jpgConnections Literary Series: Poet and Author Darah Schillinger. Oct. 6. 7:30 – 8:30 p.m. La Plata Campus, Learning Resource Center (LR Building), Room 102. Darah Schillinger is a 23-year-old poet and fiction writer from Baltimore. Her poems have appeared in AVATAR, the Yellow Arrow Journal 2022, Maryland Bards Poetry Review 2022, Empyrean Literary Magazine, and on the Spillwords Press website. Schillinger is currently in her second year at Towson University, where she is pursuing a graduate degree in professional writing. Much of her writing reflects her opinions on our current social climate and focuses specifically on body-positive feminism. American Legion Information Session for Military - Connected Students. Oct. 18. 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. Leonardtown Campus, Building C, Room 114. This session will provide assistance to veterans regarding the American Legion, employment opportunities, how to file VA claims, and any other VA resources. weber-brent.jpgBenny C. Morgan Concert Series: Brent Weber, Saxophone. Oct. 21. 3 – 4 p.m. Leonardtown Campus, Building A, Auditorium. Saxophonist Brent Weber has enjoyed a diverse musical journey as performer and educator and has experience in multiple genres of music from classical to jazz, rock ‘n’ roll and beyond. Weber is currently Department Chair and Assistant Professor of Saxophone in the Department of Music at Frostburg State University in Western Maryland where in addition to maintaining the saxophone and bassoon studios he also coordinates the jazz studies program. Night of Engineering. Oct. 26. 6 – 7:45 p.m. Leonardtown Campus, Building A, Auditorium. CSM is proud to offer, in partnership with the University of Maryland (UMD), a seamless pathway to a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering. CSM offers the Associate of Science Engineering Degree to its students. Upon completing the engineering curriculum at CSM, students may then transfer with junior status to earn a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering at UMD. Students also have the opportunity to do an internship with the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD), a division of NAVAIR, with a possible employment opportunity upon successful graduation and completion of all Pathway Program requirements.
