Collaboration with public sector, industry, and academic partners provide STEM Pathway students and graduates with incredible opportunities, including paid internships, undergraduate research, and guaranteed transfer to bachelor’s degree programs in their field. Partners include Naval Air Station Patuxent River; Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD); the James A. Clark School of Engineering at University of Maryland; and other leaders in STEM fields.
CSM is a leader in STEM education in the region. The Talons, CSM’s competitive robotics team, regularly ranks among the top 20 teams worldwide in annual, international competitions.
The cybersecurity program has been designated a Center of Academic Excellence (CAE-CD) by the National Centers of Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity (NCAE-C) and the National Security Agency (NSA).
CSM is an AWS Academy, which means CSM offers AWS-authorized courses that will help you become AWS Cloud literate and master the in-demand skills that hiring companies need most.

Credit for Prior Learning Students who enroll in the STEM Pathway can earn college credit for the skills and knowledge they already have. CSM’s Credit for Prior Learning (CPL) offers college credits for national exams; previous college-level coursework; military service and training; work experience and on-the-job-training; and more.
