About
I was born in San Bernadino, California, and arrived in Southern Maryland in 1994. I've been married more than 45 years, and I adore my four children, five granddaughters, great-grandson, and great-granddaughter. I am a retired Hospital Corpsman Master Chief, having served in the Navy Reserve for 30 years.
I was the first in my family to go to college, and it wasn't easy for me to find my way. My passion, my dream job, is helping CSM students find their way to a degree.
My job here in Learning Support Services is to help students be successful. We help students navigate myLearning, assess their courses to make a study plan, and manage complicated assignments. When we notice a student is having difficulty, whether in their education or in their personal lives, we reach out to see how we can support them and help them connect with CSM and community resources.
Educational Background
- Associate of Science, Oakton Community College
- Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Management, University of Southern Illinois
- Master of Science in Management with an emphasis on healthcare management, Troy University
Q&A
My goal is for students to enjoy the class and increase their soft skills. Student participation is encouraged for each class. We don't just discuss the material; we experience it.
Recipient of the Extra Miler and Wings of the Hawk awards
CSM has so many resources to support students in their success. Students save money by earning degrees without taking on large amounts of debt.
My class is fun. At the same time, students are improving their soft skills that will increase their success in college and at work.
