About

I began my teaching career in my early 20s as an English as a Second Language (ESL) instructor overseas. After three years of teaching and traveling in Turkey and Romania, I returned to the U.S. and settled in Baltimore, Md. I went to graduate school, taught high school English for several years, and briefly worked as a curriculum content creator. Then, before coming to CSM, I taught English at Howard Community College in Columbia, Md. and at Stevenson University in Owings Mills, Md.

Educational Background

  • Master of Arts in Teaching English, Loyola University Maryland
  • Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature with Minor in History, University of Georgia

Q&A

I value student-centered learning approaches in the classroom, and I strive to be flexible and equitable in my teaching practice. I enjoy using accessible websites, tools, and media to make course content engaging for students. Some of my pedagogical interests include gamification, trauma-informed teaching practices, and the use of play in the college classroom.

I'm passionate about animals, nature, and art and design. I love hiking and going on adventures.
