About
I am a physician, public health professional, and educator with extensive experience in academic instruction, clinical practice, and healthcare administration. Over the years, I have taught at multiple institutions, including the Catholic University of America, Liberty University, and Northern Virginia Community College. My teaching portfolio spans undergraduate and graduate courses, and I am deeply committed to student success, mentorship, and evidence-based instruction.
Educational Background
I earned my Doctor of Medicine from the Escuela Latinoamericana de Medicina in Havana, Cuba. I later obtained a master's degree in public health from the University of Maryland School of Medicine, concentrating on community and population health.Q&A
My teaching style is student-centered, inclusive, and grounded in evidence-based practices that promote active learning and engagement. I prioritize creating a structured and supportive classroom environment where expectations are clear and students feel a strong sense of belonging. Through the use of collaborative learning, particularly in laboratory settings, I encourage students to develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and scientific reasoning skills.
