About

I have always been an avid reader and am fascinated when I learn about new concepts. Learning makes me feel more connected and in tune with the people around me, and I enjoy helping students find that connection as well. My goal in each class is to ensure that students feel challenged, supported, and valued.

I have worked in higher education for more than fifteen years. I was in the Air Force and then became a military spouse, moving with my family both overseas and in the United States. I worked as an Academic Advisor at CSM for eight years and also as a program coordinator in the Continuing Education department. I currently work in Learning Support Services and also teach a study skills course as an adjunct faculty member.
My job in Learning Support Services is to contact students and offer support both academically and personally. I help students develop strategies to become successful and resilient.

Educational Background

I earned my bachelor's degree in human resources and business management from Park University.

Q&A

My teaching style is student-centered and highly interactive. I introduce core topics in a lecture format and invite students to share their strategies and perspectives. I act as a learning guide by breaking down complex information into smaller, more manageable steps. I ask clarifying questions and tailor my instruction to the needs of each individual class and can easily pivot and explain from a different angle when needed. My goal is to motivate students and support them through their college careers.
