About
I am a physicist and educator with a passion for helping students develop a deep understanding of physics and confidence in their problem-solving abilities. I enjoy creating engaging learning environments where students can connect physical concepts to real-world applications.
My academic interests include condensed matter physics, materials science, and physics education. Throughout my academic career, I have conducted research in areas including graphene, thin-film materials, and nanotechnology while developing a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching.
Educational Background
I earned my doctorate in physics from the University of Florida in 2015, with a research focus on condensed matter physics. Prior to that, I received my Master of Science in Optical Physics from the University of Tehran and my Bachelor's of Science in Physics from Shahid Beheshti University.
Q&A
My teaching style is student-centered, interactive, and supportive. I believe students learn physics best when they are actively engaged in the learning process rather than simply listening to lectures. I incorporate problem-solving activities, demonstrations, and real-world examples to help students connect abstract concepts to practical situations.
I strive to create an inclusive classroom environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and developing their understanding through exploration and practice. My goal is to help students build both a strong conceptual foundation and the confidence to apply physics principles to new challenges.
Outside of teaching, I enjoy watching movies and TV series, traveling, cooking, and trying foods from different cultures. I also enjoy learning about personal finance, investing, and the fundamentals of business and the stock market.
One of my biggest achievements at CSM has been helping students gain confidence in their ability to learn and succeed in physics. It is especially rewarding to see students who begin the semester feeling intimidated by the subject develop strong problem-solving skills and leave with a greater appreciation for science. Knowing that I have played a role in their academic growth and success has been the most meaningful part of my work at CSM.
I would recommend my classes because physics helps students develop critical-thinking and problem-solving skills that are valuable in any field. My goal is to help students build confidence in their ability to analyze complex problems and think logically. These skills will benefit them throughout their academic, professional, and personal lives.
