COVID Protocols for Fall
covid protocols for fall: safe, smart, and healthy at csm

With the rise in COVID-19 cases across the country and the state, CSM is adapting our health and safety guidelines to help ensure our community’s well-being. As we move to Phase 4 of the college’s Return to Campus Plan, some COVID-19-related restrictions will remain in place, including mask requirements as noted below.

Masks must be worn in the following spaces, regardless of vaccination status:

  • CSM College Stores, libraries, computer labs, testing centers, and other student support spaces
  • Classrooms, labs, and other instructional spaces
  • Office areas when in the presence of others
  • Any space where 6 feet physical distancing cannot be maintained

If you are not fully vaccinated, you are strongly encouraged to wear a mask or face covering at all times for your protection and the protection of others. For more information, visit our public safety portal at www.csmd.edu/ready.

Pre-transfers
looking to the horizon: pre-transfer agreements

Did you know that CSM has pre-transfer agreements with five institutions throughout the region? These are programs designed to provide CSM students access to opportunities and benefits at four-year institutions while you are still enrolled at CSM. These programs are free and you do not commit to these institutions by participating in them, so if you change your mind about where you want to transfer there are no repercussions.

These programs include:
St. Mary's College of Maryland's STEP Program

Temple University's Dual Admission Program

University of Baltimore's BeeLine Program

University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC)'s Transfer Student Alliance (TSA)

University of Maryland College Park's Maryland Transfer Advantage Program (MTAP)

New Lactation Pod at the Leonardtown Campus

new lactation pod at the leonardtown campus

CSM is excited to offer a Mamava lactation pod at the Leonardtown Campus to meet the needs of our working and student mothers for a private, clean place to pump breast milk or nurse a baby. The Mamava pod installed on the first floor of the C Building at Leonardtown (closest to the B Building) is wheelchair accessible and boasts two comfortable benches, power outlets/USB port, as well as a table surface for a breast pump and other items. Moms can customize their experience by dimming the lights and adjusting the pod’s airflow with the easy-to-use app. The pod’s easy-to-clean, food-grade surfaces provide a sanitary and comfortable space for busy moms.

Access the pod with the free Mamava app, which opens the pods via Bluetooth. CSM Public Safety or Campus Operations can also provide a code to type into the keypad.

Lactation Rooms are available at the Prince Frederick Campus in Building B, Room 216, and at the La Plata Campus’s Learning Resource Center (LR Building), Room 131.

Focus to Finish: Flexible. Focused. Successful.
focus to finish: flexible. focused. successful.

Focus is a vital part of achieving your goals. Being able to bring more of your effort and attention to bear on a challenge improves your chances of success and leads to better results.

Introducing Focus to Finish, coming this fall to CSM. Focus to Finish splits the semester into two 7-week sessions and offers an alternative to the traditional 15-week, semester-long course format.

You’ll take fewer individual courses at a time, while earning the same number of credits in a semester. You’ll receive the same high-quality, affordable education in a format that lets you apply your attention, energy, and dedication to what’s really important: achieving your goals.

Visit www.csmd.edu/FocusToFinish to see how Focus to Finish provides a structure for success.
