SPRING 7-WEEK TERM II CHECKLIST
Classes start Tuesday, March 19, Spring 7-Week Term II. Here are some quick tips and reminders to help you start the term feeling confident and prepared. 
✅ Rent or buy your textbooks and course materials in-person or online from the CSM College Store and pick up in store or have your books shipped to you.
✅ Check your classes’ course shells in myLearning and peruse the syllabus. Course shells for your classes open seven days before the first day of class.
✅ Find assistance and resources through the Hawk Hub. Call, email, or visit an on-campus Hawk Hub location to get your questions answered and receive the help you need for success.
✅ Download the CSM Mobile and CSM Safe apps and stay plugged in to what’s going on at campus and in the CSM community.
✅ Fine-tune your schedule during the add/drop period. Meet with an advisor first to make sure it won’t negatively impact your financial aid or veteran benefits!
REGISTER FOR THE VELOCITYX ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE HACKATHON
Apply your skills, insight, and creative problem-solving to the creation of an image classification model that can detect and identify images from a given dataset in the VelocityX Artificial Intelligence Hackathon on March 21-22. Register by March 20 and compete to win cash prizes from a $12,000 pot!

MARYLAND FAFSA PRIORITY DEADLINE IS MAY 15
Maryland has extended the priority deadline for state financial aid for the 2024-25 academic year! Submit your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)—or MHEC One-App for students who are ineligible to complete the FAFSA—by May 15 to ensure the greatest possible consideration for scholarships, grants, and other financial aid opportunities.

What’s in a name? A lot! The Fitness Center at the La Plata Campus PE Building has been renamed “The Hawks’ Nest.”

Grab something scrumptious on campus this week from one of our visiting food trucks! View the food truck and vendor schedule on each campus for the week of March 18. The food truck and vendor schedule includes food from Calvert Crabs, Freshly Made 4 You, Grizzly Mountain Grill, YaYa's Trini Truck, and Taste of the Tides. CSM has partnered with vendors to offer $8 and $10 value meal deals. Food trucks will be on campus 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. unless otherwise noted.

Priority Registration for current students opens opens Wednesday March 6 for summer sessions! Keep up your academic momentum from the spring while still enjoying everything summer has to offer. Earn credits for transfer, knock out required courses, or get ahead in your program.

APPLY TO GRADUATE BY APRIL 1
If you’ll complete your program of study this spring, don’t forget to apply to graduate! Apply to graduate by April 1 if you would like to participate in the May commencement ceremony. If you would prefer to receive your diploma only and not participate in the ceremony, the deadline to apply for graduation is April 15.
