CSM Welcomes Students, Community to all Campuses for a Variety of Events as Fall Semester Begins

Holiday: Labor Day Weekend (College closed). Sept. 2 - 4. All campuses will be closed for the Labor Day weekend from Sept. 2 - 4. The college will reopen on Tuesday, Sept. 5.

Auditions for "The Addams Family." Sept. 5 - 6, 6 - 9 p.m. Callbacks (if needed) Sept. 7, 6 - 9 p.m. Brad and Linda Gottfried Theater in the Fine Arts Center, La Plata Campus. Come prepared to perform a comedic monologue and 16 bars of a song (sheet music preferred). Directed by AnnMarie Saunders with musical direction by Will Derr. The show dates are Nov. 10 - 12 and 17 - 19.

We Remember 9/11. The CSM Student Life Department will line the Campus Center (CC Building) walkway on the La Plata Campus, the John E. Harms Academic Center (Building A) entrance on the Prince Frederick Campus and Great Lawn on the Leonardtown Campus with American flags in commemoration of 9/11. American Legion Information Session for Military - Connected Students. Sept. 20. 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. La Plata Campus, Learning Resource Center (LR Building), Room 103. This session will provide information regarding American Legion, employment opportunities, how to file VA claims, and any other VA resources. hawkland-gaming.jpgHawkland Gaming Festival. Sept. 23. 9 a.m. - 9 p.m. La Plata Campus, Center for Business and Industry (BI Building) and Campus Center (CC Building). This fun, day-long event celebrates the Southern Maryland community's passion for tabletop gaming while supporting student success. The festival will include a game library, demos, open gaming, vendors, food trucks, paint-and-take miniatures, and more. Pre-registration cost is $20; Day-Of registration is $25. Sept. 26. 6 - 7:30 p.m. Velocity Center at Indian Head, Room VC101A. Matt Scassero, the Director for Operations and Outreach, University of Maryland Clark School of Engineering MATRIX Lab at University System of Maryland at Southern Maryland, will discuss the opportunities and challenges of artificial intelligence and autonomy in various domains.
