The Arts and Sciences, AA, and General Studies Transfer Certificate are transferable credentials that can apply to a wide range of liberal arts programs.
This broad-based liberal arts curriculum is ideal for recent high school graduates or returning students who plan to transfer to a four-year college or university to earn a bachelor of arts or bachelor of science degree.
Through courses that explore many aspects of world thought, culture, and technology, the program will encourage in each student the intellectual flexibility and adaptability required in a rapidly changing society and job market.

The General Studies Transfer Certificate is designed for students who intend to transfer to a four-year college or university. Completion of this certificate also allows students with the appropriate grade point average to apply for transfer to most four-year institutions based solely on their college course work. All of the credits in the certificate apply to the General Studies Degree and to most of the associate degrees at the College of Southern Maryland, so students who decide to remain at the College of Southern Maryland may obtain both a certificate and a degree. This program is fully available online.
