Undergraduate Research

Two students engaged in a science experiment, one carefully adding a liquid from a pipette to a beaker while the other observes intently.

The Undergraduate Research Sequence is your pathway to gaining essential, hands-on experience that transforms theory into a competitive career edge.

This course sequence provide the student preparation and practical experience doing undergraduate research.  Students are informed of laboratory safety protocols, common laboratory skills, how to communicate research findings, and research ethics issues, such as working with human subjects.

The student will conduct undergraduate research under the supervision of a research mentor with research done either at CSM or other research institution during the time the student is enrolled at CSM. The goals and criteria for the research project will be established by the research mentor and research student with the approval of the division chair.
