What is Work-Based Learning?

Work-based learning (WBL) is an educational strategy that combines classroom instruction with practical work experience directly related to a student’s program of study. It is designed to provide authentic learning experiences to students by linking academic, technical and professional skills.

Benefits of WBL

  • Students benefit from this program by earning money, receiving on-the-job training and relevant work experience. A work-based learning position will enhance your resume and provide you with an opportunity create employer connections.
  • Work-based learning opportunities are with local Southern Maryland employers.

Complete the online student pre-assessment, and our Industry Engagement Specialist will contact you and assist you in the application process.
