2026 – 2029 Division of Learning Strategic Plan
The 2026–2029 Division of Learning Strategic Plan provides a shared framework for advancing CSM’s institutional goals. Developed by the DOL leadership team, the plan connects the work of the division’s schools and departments to college priorities and establishes a clear direction for planning, decision-making, and resource use.
The plan focuses the division’s collective efforts while allowing schools and departments to determine how they can best contribute. Progress will be measured through specific outcomes, reviewed regularly, and used to guide priorities throughout the three-year period.
The plan is organized around four goals:
- What it means: We will design and deliver academic schedules and programs that meet students where they are.
- Sample Metric: Decrease time-to-credential through accelerated or stackable pathways.
- What it means: We will foster instructional environments and professional development that improve course completion and student engagement.
- Sample Metrics: Improve pass rates in redesigned gateway courses; increase faculty participation in evidence-based teaching workshops.
- What it means: We will strengthen employer, industry, transfer, community, and internal partnerships to ensure our programs directly prepare students for high-demand careers, seamless transfer, and hands-on learning opportunities like internships and clinicals.
- Sample Metrics: Increase transfer rates to partner institutions; increase job placement rates in field of study, increase the number of active clinical or internship agreements; increase external funding or equipment donations.
- What it means: We will collaborate across divisions (e.g., tutoring, advising, library resources) to proactively integrate academic support directly into the student experience and remove barriers.
- Sample Metrics: Reduce success gaps in gateway courses; increase retention rates of students utilizing academic support services.
