English

Student focused student in the library

Students in the English program take classes in the study and practice of composition and literature.

We offer classes in studying a wide array of fiction from times past and present in the genres of poetry, short stories, novels, and plays. We also offer a class in technical writing and one in non-fiction. Students will be taught to read and to think critically and write persuasively. Because these skills transfer to the job market, students who pursue our English degree are prepared for transfer to four-year schools and for employment in various fields.
