Woman sings on stage with a man playing the piano

Our music program prepares the student for transfer into four-year music programs.

Students will take the foundational 1st and 2nd year courses in music theory and ear training, music history, and can choose to participate in a variety of music ensembles such as band, chorale, chamber choir, barbershop chorus, and Latin ensemble. The music ensembles consist of CSM students and community participants. Electives include private lessons and electives such as jazz, rock music, American music, and music in world cultures. Students can experience a variety of performing opportunities throughout the year in recitals and concerts.
