Heat Safety Tips:
- Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water throughout the day, even if you do not feel thirsty.
- Limit strenuous outdoor activities during the hottest parts of the day, typically between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
- Wear lightweight, light-colored clothing when outdoors.
- Take frequent breaks in shaded or air-conditioned areas.
- Never leave children, pets, or vulnerable individuals unattended in vehicles.
- Be aware of the signs of heat-related illness, including:
- Heavy sweating
- Dizziness or lightheadedness
- Headache

If you or someone else experiences signs of heat exhaustion, move to a cooler location, drink water, and seek medical attention if symptoms worsen or do not improve.
Please take time to prepare and remain mindful of weather conditions. Looking out for one another is an important part of maintaining a safe campus environment.
Now is the time to ensure you are prepared for severe weather emergencies. Severe weather can develop quickly and may impact campus operations, travel, communications, and personal safety. Taking a few minutes today to prepare can make a significant difference when an emergency occurs.
