Coppin State University

Coppin State University, a Historically Black Institution in a dynamic urban setting, serves a multi-generational student population and provides education opportunities while promoting lifelong learning. Articulated Program Requirements:
  • To qualify for the Business Administration: Business Analysis Concentration to Data ScienceTransfer Agreement, CSM students must:
    • Graduate from CSM with an Associate of Science in Business Administration: Business Analysis concentration.
  • To qualify for the Data Science to Data ScienceTransfer Agreement, CSM students must:
    • Graduate from CSM with an Associate of Science in Data Science.
  • Guaranteed Admissions for CSM students who have:
    • Earned the Associate of Arts, Associate of Science, Associate of Arts in Teaching, Associate of Science in Engineering, or Associate of Applied Science degree.
    • Submit the CSU Application for Admission at least six months prior to the start of the semester they wish to transfer to Coppin State University.
    • Satisfy all other CSU admissions requirements.
    • Graduate from CSM with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0.
    • Understand that for some professional programs, there is a secondary admissions process, and that admission to CSU does not guarantee admissions to a specific program.
  • Reverse Transfer is available for students who have:
    • Transferred a minimum of 45 credits. A minimum of 15 of those credits must be earned at CSM.
    • CSM students must express interest in the program when filling out their transcript request form at CSM with the intent to transfer to CSU.
    • Earned a minimum of a 2.0 GPA at both CSU and CSM or the minimum GPA required for CSM's program of study. 
  • The transcript fee will be waived by CSU when transcripts are sent in conjunction with the Reverse Transfer agreement. 
  • Students transferring from College of Southern Maryland to Coppin may be eligible for the Transfer Scholarships offered by Coppin. The Office of Admissions identifies qualified transfer students for the Transfer Scholarship. This merit-based scholarship provides an award of $2000.00 for the academic year ($1000.00 per semester). Students must complete the AA or AS degree to qualify. A total of fifty transfer students are awarded this scholarship each year and may renew for an additional year.
