my.CSMD is a web-based portal that provides a gateway to Online Services for registration, payment, and more.

The portal provides easy and centralized access to:

  • Microsoft O365 and Student email
  • myLearning
  • Online Services (Class registration, schedule, grades, payment, and more)
  • College announcements and event listings
  • Links to academic resources

 

Passphrase Protocols

Password will be referred to as a passphrase. Passphrases are strongly recommended in IT security protocol.

For example, instead of a password “csmhawk”, use a passphrase such as “iloveCsmhawks.”  Users will not have to change their passphrase unless there is a security incident.

Below are the required passphrase protocols:

  • Not changed unless security incident
  • Must be at least 12 characters long
  • Must include at least 3 types of the following characters: uppercase (A-Z), lowercase (a-z), numbers (0-9), symbol (!, ?, etc.)
  • Should not use the following symbols: @, #, $, or +
  • Multi-factor authentication (through Microsoft Authenticator App or phone)
  • New passphrase may not have been used previously
  • Must not include your name or username
  • Should not include a sequence of characters (A,B,C… or 1,2,3…)
  • Passphrase is case sensitive

Frequently Asked Questions

The steps to reset your password are the following:

  1. Log into my.CSMD with your username and password.
  2. Located at the top of the Web page is the Manage Password link, click the link.
  3. Select Change Password.
  4. Complete the required fields (New Password and Confirm Password).
  5. To be aware of the password you just typed, select Show Password.
  6. Click Change Password.
    Note: if you do not have the requirements for the new password, you will not be able to select Change Password.
  7. Once your password is updated, click Continue.
  8. Your session will end and you will be logged out of my.CSMD.
  9. Click Login to myCSMD and type in your username and password.

Keep in mind, your passphrase must meet the requirements:

There are a few places where your student ID number can be found.

Online Services

If you are able to successfully log into your my.CSMD account, you can find your student ID number once you login. The steps to finding your student ID number are the following:

  1. Login into my.CSMD with your username and password.
  2. Click Online Services.
  3. Click Continuing Education or Current Students.
  4. Click What's my Student / Staff ID? (Under User Account Information).

Your student ID will be given to you.

*Note: Please do not share your student ID number with anyone for security purposes.

Student ID card

If you are a returning student and received your student ID card from the library, you will find your student ID number on the front of your card. It will be in located bottom-centered. It is seven digits. For example, it would appear to look something like 0000123.

CSM Documents

Your student ID number will also appear on any documentation from CSM. This could be from your tuition statement or your class schedule.

If you do not have any of the sources mentioned above, you can receive your student ID number by coming to one of the campuses. Please advise, you must show a picture ID in order to receive your student ID number.

f you are unable to locate your Student ID Number, please contact the Call Center at 301-934-2251 (option 0) for assistance. Note: In accordance with federal regulations, Student/Staff ID numbers cannot be given over the phone but, in some cases, may be sent to the email address that you have on file with CSM.

To request a Student Loaner Computer, email the Help Desk at help@csmd.edu and provide your full name, student ID, email address, phone number, and which campus you would like to pickup the computer from. Once the Help Desk has confirmed your current registration, you will be notified of approval.
