Student Government Association

The Student Government Association (SGA) represents your voice in the administrative affairs of the college.

Each CSM campus has chapters which are advised by the Vice President of Student Equity and Success. The SGA is funded by the student activity fee, and all registered students are members.

SGA Constitution

The Student Government Association (SGA) has unanimously approved a proposal to amend its Constitution with the changes taking effect at the start of the 2022-2023 academic year.  Per Article X of the SGA Constitution, the proposed revisions must be posted for two weeks for public review and comment before being adopted.   Please contact Student Life Coordinators, Jen Van Cory and Erika Fisher, with any questions or comments.

The La Plata Student Association serves by representing student opinion, addressing campus needs through targeted programming and the maintenance of tradition, and providing opportunities for leadership development in order to enrich the quality of student life.  Its dedicated staff and elected officers have the obligation to carry out projects promoting student activity.

Hey everyone! Kia Smith is your President for the College of Southern Maryland’s LaPlata Campus Student Association for the 2020-2021 school year. She is super excited to be part of an awesome team here at CSM. She is a Nursing major and plans to have a career as a Nurse Anesthetist. She is a super sports fanatic but also enjoy binge watching Friends and Grey’s hoping my find my “Ross” or “Dr. McDreamy.” She is a certified foodie and will travel great distances if her taste buds approve. She is always here to answer any questions or concerns you may have or find the correct person who can assist you, so please feel free to reach out as we look forward to an incredible school year. Can’t wait to see you all around our beautiful campus!

Hello Hawks family. Reanna Robinson is your Vice President of the Student Association for the La Plata campus. While serving as a Transportation Security Officer (TSO) at the Department of Homeland Security, she is studying for a law degree. She earned a certificate in Hospitality and a Letter of Recognition (LOR) in Criminal Justice. She plans on transferring to George Mason University. During her free time, she enjoys volunteering and giving back to my community. In her efforts to help build everyone's future, she is here to help. Any questions, comments, or concerns, she is here for you.

Hello all! Christian Carston is your 2021-2022 La Plata Student Association Treasurer. A few things about him: He's an avid outdoorsman, foodie, love to travel, and will be petitioning for the Nursing program this spring. As a future nurse practitioner, he has a passion for helping those in need and doing all that he can to better his surrounding community. He decided to step into the role of Treasurer to become more involved in the CSM community and provide support for students during this unprecedented time. He looks forward to working with the SGA to be a resource for all students while creating innovative and engaging programs to make this year a success. If you see him on campus or out in the community, please don’t hesitate to say hello -- He is here for you! Let’s make this a great year!

Hello, Hawks! Davin Raine Pagala is your 2021-2022 La Plata Student Association Secretary, but you can call her Raine. She was the La Plata Student Association Secretary for the 2019-2020 school year and is excited to be a part of this awesome team and to partake in this role again for the 2021-2022 school year. She is your typical Filipina majoring in Nursing hoping to pursue a career as a Registered Nurse or a Midwife Nurse. Fun facts about her: She loves food, cooking, traveling/going out on adventures, and binge-watching shows like Grey’s Anatomy or Money Heist. She loves to make new friends, is a great listener and always here to help, so if you need help with anything feel free and don’t hesitate to shoot me an email!

Taylor Dean is one of your La Plata Student Association Representatives here at the College of Southern Maryland. This is her second year and she is excited for what her future holds! Taylor is a student athlete in our women’s basketball program. Taylor got accepted into the Physical Therapy Assistant Program at CSM and will spend the next two years getting her PTA certification. Some of her favorite hobbies are watching Netflix, cooking, and most outdoor activities including running, hiking, and working out. Taylor is a kind leader that is willing to help with any problem or just here to have a conversation! The Student Association (SA) of the Leonardtown campus is comprised of elected student leaders that represent the student body at Student Government Association (SGA) meetings.

The SA exists to provide a venue for students to have a say in decisions that affect student life. The voting membership of the SA consists of the SA Executive Board, campus representatives and student club presidents. Club leaders and all registered students are welcome to join the SA Executive Board in hearing updates from SGA meetings and to bring forth any questions or concerns about student life at monthly SA General meetings..

President Kristine Williams 

Kristine Williams is the President of the Leonardtown Campus Student Association. She is in the Nursing Program and graduating this year. Throughout her years at CSM, she always loved the events the Student Association held. She previously held the office of Representative and thoroughly enjoyed her colleagues as they all treated each other like family. In addition, she has always had an interest in helping the community and students have a great time on campus with special events. With CSM being a small community, Student Association creates a great way to have students engage with each other and create new friendships.

Rhey Mesowski is your 2021-2022 Student Association President at the College of Southern Maryland, Prince Frederick Campus. She is also the Student Government 2nd Vice President. Rhey is on her last year in the AS Mathematics Program. She finds math, science, and arts fascinating! After she earns her degree next year, she plans to transfer to St. Mary’s College to pursue a bachelor’s degree in mathematics. She loves interacting with other students especially when it comes to helping her fellow Hawks reach their academic goals. She thinks that being a part of SA/SGA is a great way to meet and work with the brightest people who will show you different ways on how to be successful. She enjoys singing, cosplaying, and traveling with her family. She wants to remind everyone that no matter how busy college life is, always make self-care a priority, and do not forget to have fun!

gineffra boutureira Vice President Gineffra Boutureira

Hi Hawks! Gineffra Boutureira is your 2021-2022 Student Association Vice-President for CSM's Prince Frederick Campus. Some things about her: She is a Computer Science major, with plans to eventually become a Data Scientist. She loves hiking, football (soccer for Americans!), road trips, and math. She is currently part of the Robotics team at CSM, and loves coding. She is always available to listen to whatever problems you may have and will always lend a helping hand. Don't hesitate to reach out if you need anything at all; she is here for you!

Breanna Kekesi (Bree) is your 2021-2022 Student Association Secretary at the College of Southern Maryland, Prince Frederick Campus.  Bree is in her first year and is petitioning for the Associates of Nursing Program, and is a graduate of Huntingtown High and CTA, where she earned a CNA and CCMA.  She loves science, the arts, and loves to serve others.  Her plans for the future include transferring to earn a BSN, and then getting a Master’s in Nursing (NNP-BC) with a specialization in Neonatology.  If she isn’t working or working on coursework, you can find her with her German Shepherds, reading, or spending time with her family and friends. She wants to help bring people together, and advocate for inclusion and acceptance of all.  One of her mottos is “to do what you love, and you’ll love what you do” and wants to remind everyone to chase the things that make you happy, because it will always be worth it to take those risks in the end.

Sofia West is your 2021-2022 Student Association Treasurer at the College of Southern Maryland, Prince Frederick Campus. She is majoring in Early Childhood Education and plans to transfer to Salisbury University after she earns her associate degree. Outside of school Sofia enjoys spending time with friends and family, as well as cooking and baking. She hopes everyone is having a great time at CSM as well as she hopes to meet you!

Abigail Sellner is your 2021-2022 Student Association Clubs and Organizations Representative at the College of Southern Maryland, Prince Frederick Campus. She plans to major in Social Sciences, and subsequently transfer to University of Maryland, College Park after earning her associate degree. On her days off, she enjoys spending time with her friends, as well as going shopping. Abigail is a new and excited member of the Student Association and can’t wait to learn and grow with the rest of the CSM student body.

Hello Hawks!! Briana Garcia will be one of your student Representatives for the 2021-2022 school year. This is her first year at CSM and is majoring in government and politics. Her career goals for the future are to actively be involved with the government and obtain a government-affiliated job. After attending CSM, she plans to transfer to the University of Maryland. She likes to research antiques, run, and travel to new areas.  She likes to help people in any way she can, she really enjoys asking questions, learning about people, and different subjects. If you have any questions, she can help you with don't hesitate to reach out. She is excited to get to know many of her peers at CSM!
