Distinguished Alumni Award
The College of Southern Alumni and Friends Connection honors former students who have distinguished themselves through outstanding professional achievements, exemplary service to the community and/or exceptional service to the College of Southern Maryland.
Nominations are invited from alumni, faculty, staff, trustees, friends of the College, and the community-at-large. Alumni may nominate themselves or others.
A selection committee comprised of alumni will review all applications and make a selection. The nominee will be sent to CSM’s Foundation Executive Committee for final approval. The award will be presented annually at Spring Commencement.
The Distinguished Alumni Award recognizes an alumnus who has excelled in the following areas:
- Outstanding success and distinction in their chosen field/profession
- Commitment to the community and charitable outreach
- Continued interest in and service to the College of Southern Maryland
CRITERIA:
- The nominee has attended CSM and as graduated with a degree or certificate
- The nominee has demonstrated exemplary service to the community and/or has provided exceptional service to CSM through volunteerism or financial support
- The nominee has demonstrated personal and/or professional achievements in their field
NOMINATION PROCEDURE:
- Complete all information requested below.
- OPTIONAL - Submit a copy of the candidate’s resume/CV and/or supporting materials at alumni@csmd.edu (i.e. newspaper clippings, testimonials from coworkers/community members, letters of recommendation, etc.)
- The CSM Development Office must receive all nomination forms and supporting materials by April 12, 2024.

The winner will receive an award presented during Spring Commencement exercises on May 10, 2024 and will be featured on the CSM Foundation website.
